Welcome to the Game Theory Substack channel!
A message from Sam Vecenie as we embark on this new journey!
Hello fellow sickos and basketball nerds! Sam Vecenie here, to announce a new addition to the Game Theory family.
This here will be a substack channel that will be an over-the-top addition to all of the great content we provide on the podcast feed and YouTube channel. As of the time that we're writing this, nearly 75,000 of you have subscribed to us over on YouTube and we're immensely grateful for that support. Andrew, Bryce and I can't even begin to say how much we appreciate how the show has grown and become a part of your lives.
So why are we starting a substack? Honestly, there are just tape breakdowns that we want to do that don't quite fit on the YouTube channel, over on The Athletic for me, or over on Bryce's Pistons' substack. Substack is one of the fastest growing platforms to publish content, and it's a great fit for us as we continue to build out our content plans.
So what will you get here? It'll be a video channel, and you're going to get quite a few breakdowns per month as we watch tape. Early on here, we've got a lot of preseason draft content slated from my offseason scouting work, with breakdowns on AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Mikel Brown and others coming soon. As the college season continues, there will be even more opportunity to break down what's going on with guys like Nate Ament, Cam Boozer and plenty of other upperclassmen we’re excited to watch. There will also be NBA breakdowns as the season goes along, much like we’ve done on the YouTube channel.
Particularly during the launch this week, we'll have thre Dybantsa video breakdowns from the Under-19 World Cup, and then next week we'll have a couple of Brown videos from the same event. We've got a lot of draft stuff locked and loaded already for the rest of the offseason, then will have some further breakdowns as the year progresses.
Beyond that, we’re also going to do one question and answer episode of the podcast per month for Substack subscribers only. Sometimes it’ll be Bryce and I. Sometimes it’ll be Andrew and I. But we’re absolutely going to provide the same kind of fun, deep-dive analysis that you’ve come to know and love from the show. It's possible that Andrew and I end up doing some movie stuff over here too given how obsessive we are about film.
The price point? The plan here for the first season is $6 per month, and if you subscribe for the full year, you will get it for $60 as a nice discount.
If you love the show and love what Bryce, Andrew and I provide in terms of entertainment and basketball analysis, the best way to support the show is by subscribing to the Substack. We appreciate you all immensely, and we can't believe the show has grown in the way it has particularly over the last year. We love what we do here, and we hope that you love it, too.
Love to all of you sickos,
Sam
